A Tree House

Once upon a time, long long ago, a wise man had said that ‘humans are nature’s way to do the things that it cannot do itself’. Machan is one such story of how a dwelling almost grows on a tree trunk in the dense forest of Jambulne, amidst the rich flora and fauna of the Western Ghats. The dwelling soars 45 feet above the forest floor along the wild fig tree, forming a symbiotic relationship with it - it’s a nest giving shelter from the elements.

The Machan is a green building if there is, with a minimum carbon footprint. It generates its own power thru wind turbines and photovoltaic cells. It is an experimental structure in keeping with a future that will hopefully be non-polluting and non-intrusive on a minimalistic palette.
