Since the natural tree canopy had been missing; Karvi had proliferated virtually taking over every inch of the land. In many places it had attained a height of 8 to 10 feet blocking off the sunlight & stifling all other plant growth. Most of the Karvi was removed, except in those areas where we felt its removal would cause soil erosion. The thick growth of Karvi was also preventing natural seeding & germination from the few remaining wild trees, birds & forest animals.
Today, many tree species which were not present earlier have taken root. A large number of local shrubs & bulbous plants have proliferated.
